Hi folks I hope your all doing well and happy that slow January is nearly behind us,before I let you carry one with reading one fab blog by the Rowe family, I’d just like to say that my work is paying off there’s bulldogs all over the Internet and hopefully it’s started going viral which I think it has so for those that share my posts thank you very much.
Also I’m happy to say Collectibulldogs will be appearing in Febs BULLISH MAGAZINE I think it’s the first ever collection site like mine and I’m really grateful that they asked me to do an advert it’s an honour when asked.
So this blog I send folks a list of questions that I think best serve a DIY blog about our field and subject and I’m happy to announce we have our first one here and it’s a corker.
Thank you very much to the Rowes for their contribution and the amazing pictures they have shared so with no further ado and questions are below:

Do you have a dog if so what dog how old and name:
Kellie and I have 3 #bulldogs and a #Pomeranian.
Ace is our 9 year old male rescue Bulldog, Tun is our 3 year old male Bulldog, Cadence is our 2 year old female #Bulldog and Shylo is our 5 year old female Pomeranian.
When did you start collecting and why choose the bulldog breed:
We started #collecting 3 years ago when we got Tun. He is our first Bulldog.
We chose the Bulldog breed because of their qualities but also because I served in the #Marine-Corps. The #EnglishBulldog is the mascot for the Marines.

What’s your most #sentimental piece:
Kellie just #purchased Arthur Wardle’s “Bulldogs of The 20th Century” engraving for me for my birthday.
She also purchased a #period equivalent frame. We are waiting on the frame to arrive as I type this.
What’s your Best Buy:
Our best buy is probably 5 #Danbury-Mint pieces that we purchased for $500. The pieces are Bulldog Christmas Tree, Bulldog Snowman, Bulldog Sleigh with Santa, Bulldog #Doghouse and Bulldog Christmas Train.
They originally sold for $130 each. The first 4 can go for more than $500 each.

Which two or three top pieces in your collection do you see as antique:
We have two 19th Century Derby Silver Company #Silver Plated #humidors.
Any kind of #knowledge you have since starting that you didn’t have before
Our knowledge has grown as our collection has grown We have made a couple of mistakes but they were minimal #fortunately.
Do you plan on collecting for many years to come or is there a cut off point:
At this point collecting has become such a #passion for us that we see no need to stop in the foreseeable #future.

How is your collection arranged ie where and in what etc:
Our collection has taken on a #life of its own and spead throughout the house! We have 3 #library #quality lighted bookcases, 1 antique Oak display case that is 4 foot tall by 7 foot long, a 5 piece #entertainment center, an antique wardrobe and all of the tops of the kitchen cabinets and the refrigerator covered.
What 3 pieces would you love to own down the line;
At some point we would like to acquire a Growler and a large Royal Doulton “Old Bill”.
Do you have any tips for other collectors:
Do your #research before you impulse buy and ask questions. If it looks like a Bulldog to you then that’s all that counts! Our beloved #breed has been transformed throughout the years so they look differently in the past. It’s still part of the #breeds #history.

Favorite maker/s:
I, personally, don’t have a favorite maker. Some of my favorite pieces have no markings.
What do #family and #friends think of #collection i.e. size quantity (any opinions jokes etc):
Our children think we are crazy but they argue over who gets the collection! #LOL
Is collecting #bulldogs #addictive yet?:
We have both been bitten by the #bug!
Any shout outs thanks links requests etc:
We would both like to thank Eiffion Ashdown.
Eiffion has answered more than his fair share of #questions and in a timely manner.
By creating “English Bulldog Collectors Club” on Facebook Eiffion has enabled us to learn a lot from his and others posts.
When Kellie visited #England last year Eiffion even offered for Kellie to stay at his #home.
Unfortunately time didn’t allow for it but the offer itself was #awesome.
Thank you Eiffion!!

There you have it kind readers the first ever DIY blog to be sent in and I do not need any thanks, all I’ve done is given folks some advice and assistance like most would but I do appreciate the fact that many out there are grateful for this venture that we have started.
Tracy and Kellie you are amazing collectors I remember the few pieces you had when meeting you guys and now look at what you have and in such a short amount of time too I should also add that top respect goes to you Tracy, being in the USMC and giving yourself to protect your country and freedoms shouldn’t be overlooked and I know the USMC takes pride in their bulldog mascot as you do with your bulldogs.
